PRIVATE LESSONS

Looking for a personalized rowing experience tailored to your skill level, goals and learning pace? Hungry to progress faster than group sessions allow or to work on a specific aspect of your rowing technique? Then private lessons may be a perfect addition to your training toolbox.

COACHES: Kirsten Ryan, Head Coach of Adult Programs and Horacio Tendilla, Head Coach of Junior /U23 /Senior programs (bios).

PRIOR EXPERIENCE: Successful completion of Learn-to-Row 101 and 201 (or equivalent experience); ability to swim; registered with Rowing Canada. Note: If you wish to take private lessons to complete the Learn-to-Row 101 (or 201) curriculum, please contact communications@hanlanboatclub.ca for more information.

AGE: 12+

FORMAT: Lessons are for either one athlete (1X) or two athletes (2X) and are two hours in length. Coach and athlete/s meet at the boathouse, discuss goals for the session, and make customized rigging adjustments before launching on the water. During the row, the coach will provide real-time feedback and take video if desired. After the row, the coach will review feedback, answer questions and email athlete/s any videos taken.

TIMING: Lessons are available at mutually convenient times for the athlete/s and designated coach; must not interfere with existing Hanlan programs.

DATES: May 21 - October 31, 2024

PRICING: 1X: $300 (plus HST) for a two-hour lesson; 2X: $450 (plus HST) for a two-hour lesson

SAFETY: Safety is our primary concern. If weather or water conditions are unsafe, lessons will be rescheduled.

OTHER:   Athletes who cannot make a lesson must cancel 24 hours in advance or will be charged the full amount of the lesson.
