Guest RowING & Out-of-Town MemberSHIP

Definitions

Guest Rowers are rowers who are not members of the Club and who wish to use Club facilities for a limited period. Guest rowers must row at scheduled practice times and be overseen by a coach unless given prior permission by a coach to row at other times.

Out-of-Town Members are former members who now live at least one hundred kilometers (100 km) from the club and who wish to stay connected to the club.

Guest Rowers must email communications@hanlanboatclub.ca, requesting permission to row at Hanlan Boat Club during their visit to Toronto. The program coach will then make arrangements with the visiting rower.

The fees for Guest Rowers are as follows:

  • Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) members will pay $35 per row + HST, up to a maximum of $150 + HST for five guest rows. For more than five guest rows, a guest rower will be expected to pay full membership fees.

  • Non-Rowing Canada Aviron members will be required to pay $80 per row + HST, up to a maximum of $400 + HST for five guest rows. For more than five guest rows, a guest rower will be expected to pay full membership fees.

All guest rowers will be expected to pay their fees upfront via e-transfer to payments@hanlanboatclub.ca and should be aware that rowing is a weather dependent sport; there will be no refunds. Guests and visitors must also sign a waiver.

Out-of-Town Members are allowed to row at the club a maximum of three times per year using club equipment that must be assigned to them by the Head Coach. Members who have private equipment stored at the club and who have paid their annual storage fee may keep their spot allocation for one year as per the Boat Storage Policy. The fee for out-of-town membership is set at $160 for the season.
