HIGH ScHOOL and university ROWING AT HANLAN

Hanlan Boat Club has been home to many high schools and universities over the past 50 years, including Havergal College, Upper Canada College, University of Toronto, and Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly known as Ryerson). Hanlan prides itself in creating school partnerships that work well for all parties, providing rowing equipment, coaching, boat storage, ergometers/weights, and prime access to Toronto’s waterfront.

If you represent a high school or university and are interested in launching a rowing program at Hanlan, please contact communications@hanlanboatclub.ca.

If you are a student at one of our current school partners and would like to row, please contact the school’s coaching staff at the email address listed below.

Havergal College

Havergal College is an independent day and boarding school for girls located in mid-town Toronto. Its rowing team was founded in 1982 and quickly grew to become one of the school's most successful and popular athletic programs. Now boasting a team of 50 athletes, a dedicated coaching staff, and an impressive fleet, the school competes in the sport's most prestigious events, including the CSSRA National Championships and the Head of the Charles. For more information about the program, please contact Head Coach Michael Greig at mgreig@havergal.on.ca.

TMU ROWING CLUB

Founded by students in 2024, the TMU Rowing Club is the newest chapter in Toronto Metropolitan University’s rich rowing history. With more than 20 dedicated student-athletes on its roster, the team competes in multiple regattas each fall, including the Head of the Trent, the Brock Invitational and the OUA Championships. To build strength, fitness and technique, many TMU rowers also participate in the coach-led training sessions held on campus during the winter, and row with Hanlan’s competitive programs during the spring and summer. For more information about the TMU Rowing Club, please contact Assistant Coach Kelly Brigley at rowrgrl@icloud.com.
