Hanlan Boat Club had its strongest showing ever at this year's Royal Canadian Henley Regatta in St. Catharines. The Club came out of the regatta with 4 gold medals - two in Masters events and two in Senior events. Not to be overlooked, however, is the number of crews who made it through heats, and sometimes semis, to qualify for finals. In all the Seniors qualified for 10 finals in which they finished first twice and second once. Other finishes in finals were also competitive. This demonstrates a depth of excellence among our senior rowers beyond that of any previous years. For those finalists, the experience may well prove to be a stepping stone to even better results in future years.
Congratulations to each and every Hanlan athlete who did the Club proud at this intensely, competitive regatta. Hanlan is rebuilding and getting results.
