LEarn To Row coordinator & LEAD JUNIOR PROGRAM COACH

 

Background:

Hanlan Boat Club of Toronto was founded in 1975 along the shores of Lake Ontario in the Portlands.  Today, along with a thriving Competitive Club Membership, and a growing stable of Community Programs, it is also home to Havergal College, Upper Canada College, and the University of Toronto Varsity Rowing Teams.  Hanlan’s vision is to be the rowing club of choice in Toronto, by providing the best overall member experience of any club and working together to become a true center of excellence.

Lead Junior Program Coach

Duties and responsibilities:

·         Develop and Implement the Junior Training program for the spring, summer and fall seasons

·         Coach athletes in on water training sessions

·         Provide technical feedback to athletes

·         Facilitate athlete learning

·         Prepare appropriate training programs for athletes

·         Develop a learning and competitive environment to focus athletes on learning to train and training to compete stages of development

·         Assist in the enforcement of HBC rules and safety policies

·         Recruit athletes

·         Supervise Assistant Junior Coaches

 

Qualifications:

·         Competitive rowing experience

·         Minimum three years coaching experience

·         Inclusive, positive attitude toward all athletes both on and off the water

·         Energetic and enthusiastic manner

·         Good communication and organizational skills

·         Must have first aid and required licenses for motorboat operation on the Toronto harbor

Position Details:

 May – October  with 2 weeks off in August

Learn to Row Coordinator 

Duties and responsibilities:

·         Implement the Learn-to-Row (LTR) program for the spring, summer and fall seasons

·         Arrange and deliver group sessions and individual private lessons

·         Publicize and promote the schedule of sessions

·         Select and supervise Assistant LTR coaches as required

·         Assist in the enforcement of HBC rules and safety policies

·         Recruit athletes.

·         Research the latest advances and techniques in training, equipment, and rigging; integrate into training programs.

·         Manage LRT coaching staff

 

Qualifications:

·         Rowing experience

·         Strong administrative skills

·         Minimum three years coaching experience

·         Inclusive, positive attitude toward all athletes both on and off the water

·         Energetic and enthusiastic manner

·         Good communication and organizational skills

·         Must have first aid and required licenses for motorboat operation on the Toronto harbor
